Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic A Level Sociology Teacher to join our international school team. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Cambridge A-Level Sociology curriculum, fostering critical thinking, research skills, and a deep understanding of social structures, culture, and contemporary issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Sociology lessons following Cambridge A-Level standards.
- Teach core topics such as socialization, identity, inequality, culture, and global issues.
- Encourage students to critically evaluate sociological theories and conduct independent research.
- Assess, record, and report student progress using formative and summative assessments.
- Prepare students for A-Level Sociology examinations with focused instruction and exam strategies.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes critical thinking and debate.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, cross-disciplinary initiatives, and student enrichment programs.
- Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sociology, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Recognized teaching qualification (B.Ed., PGCE, or equivalent).
- Proven experience teaching Sociology at A-Level or equivalent advanced programs (IB, AP).
- Strong knowledge of Cambridge A-Level Sociology syllabus and assessment requirements.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- Passion for inspiring students to explore sociological perspectives and contemporary social issues.
